Rogue: Legion Edition

First and foremost for all types of rogues (Vets, new, alts, blush, etc):

Learn to love that little website. It's the second best thing next to SimCraft and will be extremely helpful in determining "on the fly" gear upgrades.

With the latest class and spec balancing the best route is to get Outlaw to level 18 and dump the rest into Sub until the end of time or when more class balancing occurs. Right now Sub is looking to possibly overtake Outlaw in ST, and possibly AoE, by Mythic EN levels (880+), but will for sure overthrow Outlaw during Nighthold.

Versatility is the new "Multistrike" for Rogues. If you plan to play multiple specs, it's the go-to stat.

Quote
You should cast again Roll the Bones if you have 1 or less Buffs and this buff isn't Shark Infested Waters while your CDs (AR/CotD) are ongoing and this buff isn't True Bearing.

So, if you have 2 or more buffs, keep it.
If you have only 1 buff, check :
- If it's Shark Infested Waters or True Bearing, if it's True Bearing, keep it
- If it's Shark Infested Waters and you have either Adrenaline Rush either Curse of the Dreadblades up, keep it, else reroll.

Also, if you're in a stage not very demanding in terms of dps output, you should be aware that fishing for either 3+ either 2+ with at least TB or SIW being one of the two is something good. The ramp up time is longer but the burst is higher (and overall, it's better if you're not against rerolling some times).

Basically nothing changes if you only care about rolling 2+ buffs, but True Bearing is now the best one buff roll.

I'm sorry, does Blurred time just basically make the Adrenaline Rush cd shorter? Cause I can't think of any other cooldowns you lot have.

Which things should rogues not press when they have other things on them because it will wipe the raid?

Also good write up.
When I show up to raid nights I am there to have fun, not to have a tantrum-prone, know-it-all diva decide to show up on some nights and detract from my enjoyment of raiding.

It "Shrinks" all CD timers while AR is active (AR, MFD, Curse, etc), but the CD timers goes back to normal when AR ends. It's a weird system mechanic that's kind of hard to explain.

You can see it in Bay's Outlaw video at 39:33

Updated Roll the Bones theorycrafting from today's discoveries. Apparently http://www.wowhead.com/spell=193357/shark-infested-waters is the best buff to roll for and even purely fishing for it is a big net DPS increase. Who knew that one of the "considered" worst buffs is actually the best all around?

Also added an alternate artifact progression build for Assassination that might end up being the best route to go for in the end.

Lot of stuff is starting to come together so expect the main post to get updated a lot. Most of the Theorycrafting was pretty much done until Blizz pushed out a huge number pass on Legendaries and threw everything out of whack. FeelsBadMan

Added Relic and trait weights. Blizzard completely fucked up trait balancing for the time being. It's actually heavily recommended to obtain lower ilvl relics if it has the "best" traits for that artifact since it offers more damage in general, as seen in my example.
Thank god the three relics Ursoc drops for Outlaw all contain literally the best two traits for the spec.

What we once thought weapon ilvl meant everything, turned out to not be the case. This is probably one example of why the top TCs suggested we went to our first golden trait for each spec and hold onto AP, because sims are still not finalized, and because Blizzard has confirmed they're doing a mini balance patch sometime before raids open up (Between this week and next Tuesday).

7.1 PTR shows poisons being buffed, DFA pretty much getting doubled, Assas/Sub buffs, while outlaw artifact traits are getting nerfed once again.

RIP outlaw.

Those are just tooltip updates. Regardless, Sub is looking to overtake Outlaw in the ST, and supposedly AoE, department by Mythic gear levels now (880+) instead of having to wait until Heroic+ Nighthold gear levels.

And people wondered why I had my loot spec set to Sub for the legendary boots.

What kind of UI do you guys use?

Bars/Weakauras/addons

I've been playing around with some different UIs lately. Just wondering about what works for you guys.

ElvUI with a combo of other little personal QoL things mostly. IceHUD, ElkBuffBar, RoguePowerBars, sorts like that.
